Hope In The Crossing Study Kit

Designed to be used in a group setting, this four-week study will help you continue the conversation of suicide prevention while eliminating the stigma that surrounds it. Each kit includes all the tools that participants need to engage in meaningful and productive conversations. Topics include:

  • How to help someone when you don’t know where to start or what to say.
  • What to do when you notice something unusual in the behavior of a friend.
  • How approach contemplators or survivors (those left behind) instead of avoiding them.
  • How to make sure someone knows you care.
  • How your own circle of friends, acquaintances, and community can make a difference.

This study will provide participants with the tools needed to reach out to those who are contemplating suicide or have been impacted by suicide––no matter what age or description that person might be. Through the extension of a compassionate heart and relevant input, you and your group will gain insight into the lives of those who are contemplating suicide, those who are survivors of suicide, and those who are fighting against this tragedy. Each kit includes the following to help participants engage in a lively and interactive discussion:

  • Crossing That Bridge book
  • Hope Bridge Movie
  • Leader’s Guide and Study Guide
  • Six Hope Bridge Movie film clips for weekly study (located on the provided DVD)
  • 20 Connecting (x-Task) Challenge Cards
  • “Warning Signs” handout sponsored by AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention)

As a result of this course, participants will understand:

  • How to address the stigma
  • How to gather the information they or their loved ones need
  • How to connect through conversation
